Stop Smoking Success Stories
Lindsay's unique approach to hypnotherapy has enabled many clients to successfully quit a very addictive habit. He brings with him many years of experience to the hypnotherapy session, thus enabling the best possible results. He understands the nature and the habits of a smoker and tailors his session to the individual client. Because people are unique, so are Lindsay's sessions. Because of this tailored approach to the addiction, many people are able to quit smoking in just one session, others need two or three sessions. Lindsay can explain the differentiating factors which affect the variable outcomes, ring him for a free discussion. If you have failed to quit smoking with a hypnotherapy session before, it does not mean that you will fail with Lindsay's approach. These testimonials show the success Lindsay's clients achieve I had been smoking 35-40 cigarettes a day for 37 years and had tried everything - acupuncture, nicorettes, patches - nothing worked. One session with Lindsay in January 1995 and I haven't smoked since. I can now sit down and have a beer without a smoke. It is marvellous. (B. P.) ****************************************** To Whom It May Concern - I had smoked for 23 years, and it was truly a 'habit'. I smoked cigarettes, as though I was on automatic pilot. Until one day out of the blue I made a conscious decision to stop. I tried the patches for a few days. They made me feel sick, so I gave in and started smoking again. I tried going 'cold turkey' along with my husband. That lasted three days and I was so irritable. I started smoking again. I tried Zyban and I lasted ten days. It wasn't until I visited my Dentist who set off alarm bells in my head, when he told me if I didn't stop smoking I had a very good chance of losing all of my teeth! Well that did it for me. He had put the fear in God in me. He also told me of another of his patients who was a two pack a day Camel cigarette smoker and after one visit to a hypnotherapist, he had never picked up a cigarette again in his life. This person had been smoking for over forty years! My dentist gave me the telephone number and name of the hypnotherapist. His name was Lindsay. I admit I was impressed by this story…I rationalised. I only smoked a pack a day and nothing as strong as Camels. I decided to try hypnotherapy but I still wasn't sure if I really wanted to give up smoking. After all, I enjoyed it. I was a little sceptical, because I knew nothing about hypnotherapy, and thought it was all voodoo stuff (As a journalist I tend to question everything). However, I kept my first appointment. I left that session with no desire at all to smoke. I could not believe it! Even if I had wanted to smoke, I couldn't! It was like a miracle, until a few weeks later, I succumbed to the habit again. A little stress in my family had pushed me over that fine line! I felt duly ashamed of myself, and yet delighted in enjoying a cigarette again. I felt like the true hypocrite, but I must not have been remorseless, for I felt little or no guilt! As time went by, the guilt set in. I phoned Lindsay again. I was so ashamed of myself I didn't even consider cancelling my appointment. I showed up for my second session. I was better prepared to quit this time. I was going to prove to myself that I would stop once and for all. Well, I must have been better prepared both mentally and emotionally, as that was my last session with Lindsay. Since then, I admit there have been moments of temptation. I gained weight, which I have now lost again, I sometimes felt saddened that I couldn't have just one cigarette sometimes, but knew if I did that I would start again. Because of my tendency to addictive behaviour I simply changed the addiction. I replaced it with an all-consuming addiction to return to that person I was before I smoked. That was a health and fitness junkie! And it has worked! Even though I drive my family mad with all my latest food fads and exercise routines, the benefits for all concerned, and especially myself outweigh the disadvantages and all the negative aspects of what I put them and myself through when I was smoking. If you are anything like me, and you have tried everything, and you are armed with a healthy dose of scepticism towards hypnotherapy, yet burdened by a deep desire to really stop smoking, then I strongly recommend Lindsay's methods. I can't think of the money he has saved me, let alone the list of medical problems associated with the habit. If you have never tried hypnotherapy before, please do so. Lindsay can talk the talk for you, but you my friend, must walk the walk. He offers you the opportunity, you would be mad not to take it. A truly appreciative receiving client. (P.H.) ****************************************** I was holidaying and I thought I would try Hypnotherapy in an effort to give up smoking. I am now 56 years of age and had been smoking for 43 years. I had been spending $50.00 per week on cigarettes and over a period of time, this habit had cost me quite a lot of money. When I went to see Lindsay for hypnotherapy and I sat in the chair and could hear everything that was being said, I thought to myself this is a lot of bull. It wasn't what I had thought hypnotherapy to be. I was just in a relaxed state and so when he said that I was a non smoker, I was a little sceptical. I went home and to my surprise I did not want to have a cigarette. I only had a few slight urges or cravings. I did experience emotional upsets during the first week, but as Lindsay explained to me, this was part of an unresolved grief that I didn't fully experience some 39 years ago. On the second follow up session, we were able to deal with this allowing me to feel a greater deal of happiness within myself. My thanks go to Lindsay for his skill and insight, into not only helping me to become a non-smoker, but also in helping me resolve some hidden grief that I had been experiencing. I wholeheartedly recommend Lindsay's hypnotherapy services to any Smoker who has a genuine desire to become, as I did, a non-smoker. (P.S.) ****************************************** Dear Lindsay I originally became a smoker in the summer of 1967. That first cigarette made me very ill and yet for some unexplainable reason I picked up another...and another...and another.... For nearly thirty years I was a heavy (20 to 30 per day) smoker. Although I tried giving them up, cold turkey, on several occasions, I had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I would be smoker for life. Then, one day in October 1997, I drove my wife to an appointment with her masseuse. While waiting for her I saw your literature on hypnosis as a means of becoming a non-smoker. When my wife came out from her massage and I mentioned the hypnosis to her she said "why don't you make an appointment?" I decided I had nothing to lose and so I went to the reception counter and made an appointment for the following Tuesday evening. I did not have a lot of faith in your ability to undo a 30-year habit but I showed up at my appointed time, crossed my fingers, and hoped for the best. About 45 minutes later I was finished and when my wife asked me how it went I said that it was very interesting but I wasn't really sure that I had actually been hypnotised. I was therefore very surprised while having my coffee the next morning when I realised that I had no desire to light up a cigarette. I was again surprised at lunchtime when I didn't feel a need to dash outside after having my sandwich for a smoke. These surprises continued day after day until I finally came to the realisation that I am a Non-Smoker! It is nearly 10 months since I came to see you. Not only have I not had a cigarette in that time, I have not even had an urge to have a cigarette. Giving up smoking has been the easiest thing I have ever done. There is no doubt in my mind that I will never be a smoker again - thank you! Yours faithfully (T.M.) ****************************************** Dear Lindsay, You will probably recall that I came to you about mid 1987. My aim being to give up smoking, I saw you three times in all. I thought that you might be interested in hearing about the results of your hypnotism. My smoking is no longer a problem. I haven't smoked since my second visit to you. Although it still wasn't easy to give up, I know that it would not have happened at all but for the hypnotism. I still very occasionally have a momentary urge to light up a cigarette. But the urge isn't very strong and I would not consider giving in to it. A more far reaching effect of the hypnotism and specifically of your suggestion that I would feel more confident about myself personally, is that I made up my mind to achieve more with my life generally. In 1988, I completed two senior subjects by correspondence with a high achievement for English, a sound achievement for Ancient History and better than 98% in the humanities area. I have, as a result of my marks and a good resume of my abilities which I compiled last year, been accepted to begin a degree in social science at the University of New England. I find myself attaining new levels of confidence and self acceptance with each month and feel that I am becoming a more complete person all the time. Your suggestions seem to me to have started a ripple in my mental pond which is having ever widening effects. I feel capable of achieving anything at all. Once, I used to feel very nervous driving in new areas but as I become more confident I am finding that I have no trouble driving visitors to areas that are not familiar to me. These would have represented major trials to me once. My appearance too has undergone a change. I used to wear my hair up in a rather tight style, which I never liked to change in case it seemed I was trying to look too young. Now I wear my hair out virtually always because that is the style that makes me feel good. Once again, heartfelt thanks to you for possessing the knowledge and skill not only to help me achieve my original aim, namely to give up cigarette smoking but for your realisation also, that you could help me build my confidence. I might add that I had never thought myself lacking in confidence until I began to gain so much of it and realised how different I had become. I have recommended you to quite a few people and will continue to do so. You have my vote of confidence. (S.M.) ****************************************** More Success stories are on this site.
